Irrigation Repairs
We service all makes: Hunter, Rainbird, Toro, K-Rain and more. Repairs are taken care of promptly and conveniently, and on a typical repair no one needs to be home. Simply call or email us.
Landscape Lighting
Enjoy your yard when the sun goes down. We can set up a free demonstration of a zonable, dimmable, colour-changing and WiFi-controlled LED landscape lighting system in your yard and leave it with you for a week.
Wildfire Sprinkler Systems
Automatic, remotely activated wildfire sprinkler systems for your home, cottage or business. We install and maintain them, and help prepare properties in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario to be fire resistant.
Utility Location Service
Do you need to locate a private electrical, telephone, cable or gas line? We can locate, paint and flag the locations of these private lines for you. Please call to set up an appointment.

Purchasing your prepaid maintenance package ensures your opening in the first 30 days of our sprinkler season, typically by May long weekend. You are also saving on travel charges.

A fall blow-out is required every year. Air is blown through the lines until the water is gone and only air is coming out of each sprinkler.

A technician inspects and tests the timer, valves and sprinkler heads, and spends up to 45 minutes raising or lowering heads, checking for leaks and programming timers.

Start Up, Mid-Season Check Up and Blowout Combo for normal city water residential systems
A great package for a customer who is not home for the summer or is busy. The technician repeats the start-up service mid-season and adjusts the system to seasonal conditions.

How an installation works
Design
An initial free site visit lets us determine your lawn’s watering requirements. Your system is designed around your water supply, your plants and grass, and the sun on each side of the property.
Flagging out
The installation process begins with our designer flagging out the job.
Installation day
The team arrives around 8:00 AM. Most city properties are started and completed in one day; larger country properties can take 2+ days. A vibratory plow installs the pipe with as little damage to your yard as possible.
Walkthrough
We walk you through the finished system, set you up with the phone app and show you how to control your new irrigation system.
All our systems are WiFi compatible, so you can control your system from your device, from anywhere. WiFi systems use predictive watering to adjust your irrigation based on local weather data.

About Sunshower Sprinklers
Jeff Southam founded Sunshower Sprinklers and has been running the business ever since. Jeff is now accompanied by his son Doug Southam in running the business together.
Our technicians are formally trained in irrigation design, using only the best parts, equipment and technology to service our customers.
When you call with a problem, the office and your technician already have the details of your system: valves, sprinklers, valve boxes, timers, sensors, water supply and shut-off. Our service vehicles pull an enclosed trailer stocked to service all makes, so the goal is to fix your problem on the first trip.

Frequently asked questions
What type of irrigation parts do you use?
We install Rainbird, Hunter and K-Rain irrigation products. Every company has different levels in its product line, and we choose the best so we can install a system we are proud to maintain for decades to come.
Why is it important to have an irrigation system?
An automatic system waters your lawn and plants in the early morning hours, when there is minimal wind and sun, so very little water is lost to evaporation. With a rain, soil or solar sensor, the landscape is only watered when it needs it.

Why do I need a fall blowout?
A fall blow-out is required every year. We use 185 cfm tow-behind air compressors with pressure regulators, and blow air through the lines until the water is gone and only air is coming out of each sprinkler.
Do I need to be home for a repair?
We design our systems so that on a typical repair no one needs to be home. Call or email the office describing your symptoms and we will schedule a time.
